TOO MUCH FOR THE LORD

But this I say, He which soweth sparingly shall reap also sparingly; and he which soweth bountifully shall reap also bountifully.

2 Corinthians 9: 6

A minister of the gospel was shocked to her bones one Sunday morning when she gave her son the offering for the day. The boy exclaimed that the money was too much as an offering. To this, his mother replied that he was being very carnal. She asked him to tell her how much can ever be too much for the Lord who has given us all things. This same child often spent more on snacks after service.

Why will parents allow their children to spend so much on snacks after service and give so little to God as offering? It all begins at childhood. We measure the money we give as offering but we throw caution to the wind when it comes to entertaining ourselves.

When last have you increased your offering?  Do you ask the Lord to lead you in this regard or do you just decide what to give? Cheap offerings cannot fetch anyone bountiful blessings. Offerings are good revealers of the value men place on God’s goodness.

Our God is the King. Honour Him as such. Your money, time, strength and everything are gifts from Him so nothing is too much to give to Him. May your giving always attract divine attention.

PRAYER GUIDE

1.      Thank God because you are not a beggar.

2.      Ask for mercy if you have been giving so little as offering and spending so much on yourself.

3.      Pray that God’s hand will move in your church.

4.      Talk to God about today.

5.      Give thanks.
