SURROUNDED BY CROWD OF WITNESSES
SHORT WORDS OF EXHORTATION PRESENTED BY APOSTLE JACOBSON JOSEPH A. DURING THE MEETING OF ALL THE APOSTLES HELD AT BENIN CITY ON THE 10TH OF OCTOBER 2018.
TOPIC: SURROUNDED BY CROWD OF WITNESSES
TEXTS: HEB. 12:1-2; JUDGES 1:1.
Heb. 4:1 – We should serve God with fear and trembling
God is to be feared.
The fear must be borne out of a genuine heart
We should fear and obey the instructions of the Holy Spirit.
We should obey the will of God rather than serving God in the fear of man.
Heb. 4:11 – We should labour for the Master from sun rise to sun set.
We should labour without grudge and murmuring.
We should labour bearing in mind that only God rewards and not man.
We should labour to win the heart of God.
Heb. 4:16 – No legitimate child is a stranger in his own house.
We should be bold in our services and ministry knowing who called us.
We received the spirit of boldness and power.
The anointing makes one bold in the discharge of his duties.
Heb 6:1 – Now that our Spiritual Leader is no more, crowds are out there to put us on check if we would fail or succeed.
We should hold on to the basic foundation of the church and be ready to make sacrifices in order to restore the original status of our church.
We must continue to keep the church on the move.
We must go on with the original tenets of this church without deviating and if we have deviated we should apply sacrificially the principles of Ezra. 10. Or else we shall continue to remain where we are.
Heb.10:22 – With a clean heart, we should draw near to God and ask Him where do we go from here now the leader is no more.
We should draw near to God always not only on emergencies like this to reason with God on a way forward.
Heb. 10:23- We should hold fast that which is good which we have Learnt or heard in our church.
We should discard any suggestion within or without to abscond, resign or go to other churches.
We should not depart from the truth we have received.
We should hold fast and go back to the original teachings of our church without coping from other churches what belongs to them which is not given to us.
Heb. 10:24- We should respect the gifts in others and emulate what is good and appreciate the gift in others.
We may not have the same or equal gift as some are more gifted than others.
We should consider the weakness in others and encourage them to stand than to castigate or disgrace them.
We should consider one another, respect each other, and accord one another the right to existence.
With the demise of our Spiritual Leader, a new chapter has opened to the Church, and our maturity is going to be put into test and shall be seen by all men how we will move this Church forward.
Thanks.
