The Youth Ministry of St Joseph`s Chosen Church of God, started as an informal gathering of some youths in 1985 under the leadership of Late Pastor S. Osieke and later succeeded by Late Apostle John Aziken. Between 1985 and 1998, these leaders were then referred to as President and the group as National Youth Fellowship. It was the Administration of the present Spiritual Leader of the Church, Apostle Dr. H.I. Alile, OFR, NPOM, that transformed the Fellowship to a full-fledged Ministry in the Year 1998 and the overall Supervising Leader was thereafter referred to as the Pioneer Youth Minister. Apostles B.O.N Tikpa, Late Apostle John Aziken and Apostle James Ogbu headed the Ministry before the present Leader, Apostle Gideon Irerhievwie.
The Ministry is run by the National Executive Council (NEC) made up of Elected Officials and Regional Coordinators. The NEC reports to the National Youth Minister, who is the interface between the Church and the Ministry. Elected officials run the affairs of the Ministry at the Regional, District, and Branch levels. There is also an Advisory Committee made up of Regional Youth Ministers and selected Youth Leaders. The membership is drawn from male and female members of Church, in the age bracket of 18 – 35years.
THE FELLOWSHIP OBJECTIVES
The Cardinal Objectives of the Ministry include bringing into the consciousness of the Youths -the Horse Power of the Church- the core values of the Church; reminding and engaging the Youths in Church growth; Prepare Youths for effective and successful marriage; encourage academic excellence; encourage entrepreneurship; teach Youths to have good social life that does not compromise Christian doctrines.
