A YEAR OF REASONABLE SERVICE

A YEAR OF REASONABLE SERVICE

SPIRITUAL LEADER’S GUIDING MESSAGE FOR THE YEAR 2019

Theme: “A YEAR OF REASONABLE SERVICE.”

I salute you all with the Love of God in the name of Jesus Christ, Amen.

Brethren, we must extol the name of our Lord God who, by His outstretched arm, delivered His Church from the tumults and travails of the just concluded year 2018. For this we have to render to God three hearty Hallelujah!

No doubt, the year 2018 was fraught with divers uncertainties, especially in the political and socio-economic fronts. According to Apostle Paul,

“We were troubled on every side, yet not distressed; we were perplexed but not dispaired, persecuted but not forsaken; cast down but not destroyed.” 2 Cor. 4:8-9.

Praise the Living God!

In the New Year 2019, our Country Nigeria will witness another general elections. We should all be on our knees and pray for Peace and Divine Intervention; and surely, Our God will hear and answer the prayers of His Children.

As we seek Divine Direction for the New Year 2019, the Lord revealed that “2019 is A Year Of Reasonable Service”.

Here, Apostle Paul urges:

“I beseech you, therefore Brethren, by the mercies of God, that you present your bodies a Living Sacrifice, holy, acceptable to God which is your Reasonable Service” Rom.12:1.

Reasonable Service demands that, in the New Year 2019 we should all use our bodies to serve God selflessly and sacrificially, in total obedience to Him. Reasonable Service also denotes Diligent, Practical or Active Service.

Our Lord God defined and summarized the Reasonable Service as follows:

“You shall love (serve) the Lord your God with all your heart, and with all your soul and with all your strength.” Deut. 6:5.

And Joshua declared:

“…But as for me and my house, we will serve the Lord.” Joshua 24:15.

We are hereby charged to be fully committed to offering “Living Services” and not “dead services”. People of God should lovingly surrender themselves and all they have to serve God. Offer your quality time, finances, property, counsel, help, praise, etc, which will be acceptable to God.

Having had one year experience of the New Cycle of Growth which kicked off in January 2018, the Lord, by this guiding revelation – Reasonable Service – is spurring the Church into greater Kingdom work in this year 2019.

Like Joshua and the Children of Israel, everyone of us is expected to raise our holy hands and make this declaration of rededication and commitment on behalf of our families that, “As for me, my wife/husband and children, we shall serve the Lord our God with all our hearts, with all our souls, with all our strength, with all our finances and with all our time.”

For us to make progress in this new dispensation, there should be Spiritual Teamwork and synergy among Brethren. Apostle Paul admonished:

“How is it then, Brethren? Whenever you come together, each of you has a psalm, has a teaching, has a tongue, has a revelation, has an interpretation, let all things be done for edification.” 1 Cor. 14:26

Apostle Paul further used the human body to illustrate the need for synergy that should exist in the Church of God. In other words, as human body is a unity with many members having its own function so is the Body of Christ. The Church is a unified body under the Headship of Christ, but the members have different functions.

“For as we have many members in one body, but all the members do not have the same function, so we, being many, are one body in Christ, and individually, members of one another. Having their gifts differing according to the grace that is given to us, let us use them.

If prophecy, let us prophesy according to the proportion of our faith; or ministry, let us use it in our ministering; he who teaches, in teaching; he who exhorts, in exhortation; he who gives with liberally, he who leads with diligence, he who shows mercy, with cheerfulness.” Rom. 12:4-8.

“For as the body is one and has many members, but all the members of that one body, being many, are one body, so also is Christ… But now indeed there are many members, yet one body. And the eyes cannot say to the hand, I have no need of you. Nor again the head to the feet I have no need of you. ” 1 Cor. 12:12; 20-21.

In both passages, we can see the importance of every individual member as a part of the Church, it is absolutely imperative that every member should deploy his or her spiritual gifts and physical talents for the edification, welfare and growth of the Body of Christ.

Like the human body, if one part of the body ceases to function, paralysis, sickness, deterioration and death occur.

Conversely, when every member functions assiduously with these gifts and talents, the Body of Christ will maintain Strength, Health and Vitality in the New Life. And this shall be our portion in Jesus’ Name, Amen

Finally, I pray the Almighty God to fill every member of the Church

“With the Holy Spirit, in wisdom, in understanding, and in knowledge, and in all manner of workmanship. To design artistic works, to work in gold and in silver and in bronze, and in cutting jewels for setting, in carving wood, and to work in all manner of workmanship.” Ex. 31:3-5 (NIV)

Beloved Brethren, as we work under the empowerment of the Holy Spirit this year 2019, we shall render Reasonable Services and make great exploits towards the advancement of God’s Kingdom. You will all experience unimaginable breakthroughs in all fronts in the name of Jesus Christ, Amen!
